January 2024:"The property was spotless with all the amenities you could need. It was in a lovely quiet location. Heating kept the house plenty warm even though we were there at the beginning of February. All the instructions to use the facilities were clear and the host went above and beyond pointing out local attractions and being very responsive to emails."
November 2023: "
The House is a pretty modern update of a traditionally built cottage with everything we needed. parking for 2 cars and 10 mins from central Llangollen. Views from bedroom, kitchen and lounge windows all grand and zero road noise (some owls about though) It was warm and tidy, Hosts are very helpful and fast to communicate, we weren't in a lot as attending a family wedding and related get togethers. Beds were good which is always a rental bonus."
October
2023: "What a delightful cottage in beautiful surroundings! The cottage was comfortable and spotless and had everything we needed, plus wonderful views. Ian and Yvonne were great hosts - we appreciated all the useful information provided beforehand. Highly recommended."
June 2023: "Terrific place to stay. Lovely sociable kitchen, excellently location for all the regional tourist spots, but really it's the setting that steal the show - glorious vistas from the cottage looking north, east, south or west. An absolute delight."
May 2023: "Our stay at Jasmine Cottage was fantastic. The cottage is situated in a stunning location with access to excellent walks. On our first day, we did a walk that was recommended by our hosts (directions were to a T) and we couldn't believe our eyes. The views were breath taking! The cottage is situated in a quiet lane and was fully equipped for our stay. We really loved the place and hope to come back again. Thank you Ian and Yvonne."
November
2022: "Very helpful owners who sent info about walks and places to eat in
the area. We visited in November but the cottage was cosy."
October 2022: "Lovely cottage in a great location for generally enjoying
the area. Excellent communication from the host. Thoroughly recommend staying
here."
October 2022: "We were really comfortable here, and had a lovely time. As
another reviewer said, the cottage was even better than the pictures - I really
like the kitchen. The views were great with the autumnal colours. The sofa bed
is far larger and more comfortable than most - and it worked well having people
sleep in there as the living room is separated by a door. It's a lovely area."
August
2022: "The cottage was very spacious and generally I good condition. But what
made the whole experience most enjoyable was the owners. Their communications were excellent, from when we made the booking until after
we left and arrived home. 5 stars - at least."
July
2022: "Everything was just amazing. We had a great stay with our two children
and my parents. It’s spacious and the host was excellent. You won’t find a
better cottage at this price. The view from the cottage is breathtaking. It was
a nice change cooking in the kitchen with views of mountains and sheep. Wish we
had stayed a bit longer, 4 nights were not enough."
May 2022: "Great time had at Jasmine Cottage. The house was clean and homely.
Our boys felt at home straight way and loved having their own en-suite off the
bedroom. Lots of local walks on the doorstep which were really enjoyed. Walks
into Llangollen, the Abbey, Aqueduct, Dinas Bran. There was so much to see and
do, just didn’t have enough time. Check in easy, wifi worked well, good
communication from Ian and Yvonne."
August 2021: "Our second visit to Jasmine Cottage. A great base to explore from.
The cottage is clean and well equipped and it's fabulous that each bedroom has
its own en suite! It's huge with great living spaces and a big kitchen, where
we spent most of our time. Lovely views and local pubs. Great walks. So glad we
came back."
June 2021: "The communication with the owners was excellent. The cottage itself
was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and had everything we needed. Beds
extremely comfortable. Beautifully placed within the countryside with stunning
views. Lovely walks into Llangollen but taxi was only £9 for 5 of us to travel
back. Can highly recommend."
September

a comfortable stay . Great location peaceful atmosphere great views."

2020: "PERFECT HOUSE in a PERFECT LOCATION!! Spent a week as a family
of five in this wonderful spot, and cannot recommend enough. So much to
do and see within walking distance, from the rugged hilltop castle
to LLangollen's gently flowing canal. Venture into the town for a
great variety of shops and eating places, or splash around in the River
Dee. A 15 minute drive in virtually any direction opens up whole new things to
explore, including Telford's aqueduct in nearby Trevor (which we kayaked
over) and the impressive 'World's End' gorge. We even had a day on
Anglesey, driving through Snowdonia on the dramatic A5! Ian replied
within minutes to any query we had and recommended places to shop for food and
essentials. Kitchen very well provided with utensils and great dining
table, and with three en-suites, there was never a race for the bathroom! TOP
SPOT!!!"
November
2019: "Wow, an amazing place. 3 en suites were ideal for our work trip. Very
informative welcome; restaurants, pubs, walks etc. Would definitely recommend."
October
2019: "Just got back from an amazing 5* stay at Jasmine cottage. It was
everything and more than what we expected. It would be hard to find a
cottage with such magnificent views, surrounded by mountains and hills, the air
is so fresh! You feel like you're away from it all, its peaceful and very
relaxing. Yet its only a short drive into Llangollen with lots of shops,
eateries supermarket etc. The property has loads of room, its cosy and modern,
a big kitchen, a large dining table, ensuite in every bedroom with
showers, although one en-suite has a bath too! Lots of cooking equipment, soap
in every room, washing up liquid and a few essential cooking items. There's 2
large terraces and a small veranda situated off the upstairs lounge looking out
onto Velvet Hill directly behind the cottage. To the front is a beautiful oak
open porch, I loved having a morning cuppa looking at the scenery, there's nothing blocking the view! Its stunning! Communication was
fast, and Ian and Yvonne catered to all our needs. All in all a fabulous time
had by all the family, made better staying in such an amazing place xx
September
2019: The location is hard to beat. Stunning scenery and so much to do in
the vicinity. We recommend a trip to the near by Abbey and enjoyed a
pub meal in the Britannia Inn."
October
2018: "I stayed, together with my family arrived from
Italy to stay in Jasmine Cottage from 27 to 30 October 2018.
Interpreting the common thoughts of my family I can say with absolute firmness
that I have spent a holiday unforgettable. The cottage was cozy and well
furnished, clean and structured to have everything available. The photos,
beautiful, can not describe so precisely, the care of cleaning the cottage. I
repeat structured and well organized and above all there was everything needed
to spend a fantastic stay. Towels, bed linens, appliances all worked and all at
your fingertips. The directions before arrival and the instructions
after, precise and accurate, have allowed to find everything very easily. No
complain, also because there was nothing that was not as said and
written. The cottage went well beyond expectations and certainly when I
return to visit my sister I will stay in this beautiful cottage
surrounded by greenery and peace."
September
2018: "Booked the cottage for seven of us to stay for a short weekend. The
cottage was absolutely amazing, had stunning scenery and provided plenty of
room for a large group. Ian and Yvonne were amazing and offered a mountain of
information to help with our stay. We would love to make a return visit!"
August
2018: "The cottage is really lovely and has everything you need. It's well
thought out for families, and we really enjoyed our week staying there
,so much so one of our children kept asking if we could buy it and move there‚
the kids loved it there and all liked having an ensuite! I notice from a
previous review there was a problem with the toilet system before our stay but
we had no problems so I think this must have been rectified. The cottage is
really beautiful and very clean and well thought out, it has a lovely feel to
it which makes you feel at home .The owner Ian was very helpful and friendly
via email, he sent through lots of information about the cottage and the areas
around to explore and nice places to eat which was really useful. There are
lots of really pretty walks around the area and it's a nice walk into
Llangollen . We didn't have the best weather when we stayed but I can imagine
its stunning in the sunshine and the cottage has a nice bbq area and very
pretty little garden with amazing views we really couldn't fault it. Would
definitely recommend."
July
2018: "An Ideal Cottage in stunning surroundings. We had a wonderful stay at
Jasmine Cottage. This was our second stay, after a short break last winter
we couldn't wait to return to enjoy the cottage's outside space and the
beautiful surroundings in the summer weather. The cottage is very spacious and
comfortable, a real home from home. The facilities provided were some of
the best we have been offered in any of the many self catering properties
we have stayed in, from the outside space, off road parking to the kitchen
and dining area. Our hosts Ian and Yvonne really have thought of
everything, providing walk suggestions and comprehensive instructions on the
facilities provided in the cottage, making it so easy for us, the only thing we
had to do was enjoy our holiday! The location was also ideal, with plenty of
walking from the door, we particularly enjoyed a loop taking in the Clwydian
Way, Offas Dyke path, Dinas Bran castle, Llangollen canal tow path and our
favourite, velvet hill, which backs onto Jasmine cottage. Thanks Again, We will
be back!"
June
2018: "Had a 3 night stay at the cottage (Friday to Monday) but could have
stayed longer. The cottage is really clean and well equipped and the
seating areas outside are lovely, so peaceful and with beautiful views
that it was nice to just sit for once and relax and enjoy the scenery.
You can get into the centre of Llangollen with a 5 minute drive or the
walk down is lovely at about 30-40 mins strolling pace. We were given
lots of pre-arrival information on the area and the walks etc and can honestly
not wait to book again. We have been raving about the place to everybody we
know (need to watch that or it'll be booked up!) and 3 days after getting
home, I am still pining to be back there. Definitely recommend for booking."
February
2018: "Girly catch up with school friends, we have just spent a fabulous
weekend in Jasmine cottage. We couldn't fault it. Well equipped for our needs.
First night was spent cooking a meal and catching up, we didn't move from the
well equipped kitchen diner! First full day, decided to walk to Llangollen and
ended up at Pontcysyllte aqueduct which was a bit scary for two of us but worth
it despite the aching feet!! We dined out that night however on reflection
think we ought to have stayed "home" and made the most of our
comfortable surroundings. Next time then.... We're not picky and so no
recommendations from us although we were all grateful that we weren't compelled
to do any ironing during our stay! Loved the 3 ensuites, I slept in the single room
which by comparison to the other rooms is small but hey! I was only sleeping
in there! Was fine with the added bonus of an ensuite!! Found a
great local taxi company Premier (Gareth) it was like having a chauffeur! All
in all we thoroughly enjoyed the weekend which went by in a flash. We're
already planning a return."
May
2017: "I along with 4 work colleagues who were attending a water course
nearby stayed in this lovely cottage. What can we say, accommodation was
perfect for us, everything you need, with views to die for. We hit lucky with
the weather and for four nights we sat outside in the nice little sun trap, and
made good use of the BBQ. Pub on the doorstep, wasn't the best but was
good enough. Planning on booking again but with my family. If I was to give one
bit of advise, was that parts where starting to look tired, but am sure the
owner knows what he's doing and will tidy up the small bits that need it."
February
2017: "We stayed for 3 nights in this wonderful cottage. It has a massive
kitchen and dining area downstairs with one bedroom and big en suite.
Upstairs is a living room and 2 more bedrooms, all en suite. Stayed with my
partner and 3 children and had a brilliant time. Lovely views and plenty of
good walking areas.”
December
2016 “Such a lovely weekend at this cottage, I couldn't have asked for anything
nicer, the cottage was really clean and homely. I stayed with my family
and we were so sad to leave as we loved it that much! We have all agreed to
come again! To top it off the owners seemed really nice, they were helpful and
sent over lots of things to do with our stay! 10/10!!!!!!!!!"
October
2016: "We have travelled a lot over the last 20 years and this has got to be one
of the lost treasures in accommodation ...i could only describe it as a place
to go if you need to rest and recover and escape from the madness of modern
life .We will be back."
September
2016: "A fantastic location, with a superb standard of accommodation, it was
almost shame we had to get up early each morning and head out somewhere, we
will be back without a doubt."
February
2016: "we just wanted to let you know that we had a lovely weekend at your
cottage. The accommodation was beautiful, and both ourselves and the girls
thoroughly enjoyed the rest. The weather was rubbish, but to be honest we
just really wanted a chilling break, so it didn't spoil it for us."
November
2015: "Absolutely Fantastic. Given the nature of the Visit we didn’t get a mass
of time to spend in the cottage, but I have to say it has to be one of the
nicest rental houses I have ever stayed in. Couldn't praise the owners more.
Everyone of us who stayed at the house were blown away by the cosy nature of
the house. Will 100% be back in the summer months to explore a fantastic area
of Wales. Llangollen is a lovely town set in a picturesque area of North Wales
with so much to do and see. Thanks once again for the hospitality provided."
Easter
2015: "We had a lovely stay in this cottage for Easter weekend. It was an ideal
spot for visiting the area. We visited the “Ladies of Llangollen”, walked to
Chirk along the canal (we got the bus back) and walked up Velvet Hill and the
Horseshoe Falls."
March
2015: "Thank you Yvonne and Ian for the opportunity to stay in your beautiful
holiday cottage. Jasmine cottage has proved to be a wonderful base to explore
many places of interest (and so many stunning walks literally from the
doorstep!!). The walks Ian has recommended are all very worthwhile doing. A
must is to visit Pontcysyllte Aqueduct although the walk across is not for the
faint hearted! My favourite walk was up to the ruined castle just above the
town. The climb is quite hard but the views are stunning and worth the effort.
The cottage, the weather and the area all exceeded our expectations. It was dry
and bright all week with excellent visibility, so perfect for walking. The walk
to Llangollen via the back of Velvet Hill is a must as the views are
spectacular. Thoroughly enjoyed the train ride to Corwen and our trip over the
Horseshoe Pass to Ruthin. The Britannia Inn and the Chainbridge Hotel are both
worth a visit. Lots of fabulous walks, stunning scenery and just a really nice
feel about the area. A really enjoyable holiday."
February
2015: "Just wanted to say thank you. I booked jasmine cottage for my friend’s
40th birthday and we all had a lovely stay. We couldn't fault anything. The
cottage is really lovely, spotlessly clean and comfortable and in a beautiful
location. We hope to stay again in the near future, hopefully for longer."
December 2014: "It looks like we are the first people to stay at
Jasmine Cottage - lucky us! The cottage is really lovely, both in decor and
situation. We followed a couple of the walks from the guidebook - including the
Velvet Hill walk which lent itself to some stunning views (if a bit tiring!).
We ate at the Corn Mill in Llangollen centre right on the river Dee which was
top class, we also indulged in a Welsh cream tea at a local cafe and had a New
Year’s meal at the Britannia Inn up along the Horseshoe Pass (which was still
snowy!). We also did a big drive to Bala and it’s Castle plus a cross section
of Snowdonia National Park. Overall this was a fantastic break in a great
property and we will definitely be recommending Jasmine Cottage to others and
be back ourselves!"
